A memorandum of understanding was signed on the joint implementation of the "NerUzh" program
The purpose of the memorandum is to involve the potential of the Diaspora in the development of Armenia's economy, to promote repatriation. It is also planned to cooperate in the development of an innovative technology-startup ecosystem in Armenia
The memorandum was signed by the RA Minister of High Technological Industry Vahagn Khachaturyan and the Executive Director of "My Step" Charitable Foundation Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
"Taking into account the fact that the involvement of the intellectual and economic potential of the Diaspora is a priority for us," Potential "is one of the key programs of the RA Government. "Get grants, move to Armenia, and implement them," said Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
The executive director of "My Step" charity foundation added that the initial amount of the grant will be in the range of 80-100 million drams.
"The signing of the memorandum will give us an opportunity to combine the opportunities of Armenia's Diaspora and professional potential to use them for the development of the high-tech sphere," noted Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The Minister added that the "Armenian Virtual Bridge" program had been implemented before, by which the opposite process was carried out. Our specialists were given the opportunity to work and gain experience in Silicon Valley companies.
"Within the framework of this program, we plan to support young specialists from the Diaspora to implement their initiatives in Armenia. "In this regard, the ideas of the ministry My Step Foundation have coincided, we plan to implement it next year," said the minister.
The goal of the "Potential" program is to attract talented Diaspora entrepreneurs and engineers, to promote repatriation, as well as to develop a startup ecosystem in Armenia.
