My Step Foundation's response to COVID-19: support for vulnerable groups

06 April, 2020
The My Step Foundation, guided by the principle of social responsibility and the need to urgently support groups at risk from COVID-19 in Armenia, has decided to combine its efforts and resources with the Armenian Red Cross Society. The efforts of the two organizations, combined with the Rapid Response Coordination Office, aim to support vulnerable groups during emergencies.

This week, food and protection packages set by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will be provided to the elderly living alone, disabled and vulnerable people in the Aragatsotn region. These packages will be distributed with the help of 351 volunteers from the Armenian Red Cross and 70 from the Social Security Territorial Division. The list of beneficiaries was provided by Aragatsotn Regional Administration.

In order to encourage economic activity in the communities, all the packages have been purchased from local businesses.

The partnership between the My Step Foundation and the Armenian Red Cross Society began in 2019, within the framework of developing joint programs to reduce vulnerability in Armenia. Cooperation with the Armenian Red Cross Society aims at effective use of resources, taking into account the professional experience of the Red Cross for many years, the large network of volunteers who have undergone special training, and by the regional representation.

We thank all the donors and partners of the My Step Foundation for their joint efforts.
