On January 28 “Homeland Defender's Rehabilitation Center’’ hosted the opening ceremony of the expanded areas of the Center, as well as the opening of the auditorium named after the April war hero captain Armenak Urfanyan with the support of ''My Step'' Foundation.

On January 28 “Homeland Defender's Rehabilitation Center’’ hosted the opening ceremony of the expanded areas of the Center, as well as the opening of the auditorium named after the April war hero captain Armenak Urfanyan with the support of ''My Step'' Foundation.
The spouse of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ''My Step'' Foundation Mrs. Anna Hakobyan, Armenak Urfanyan's family members, Executive Director of ''My Step'' Foundation Mr. Hovhannes Ghazaryan, prominent doctors and officials attended the ceremony.
With the financial support of "My Step" Foundation central building of the Center was completely reinforced, around 1000 square meters was renovated, the capacity of the Center was increased by 40%, i.e. the number of rooms was increased by 8 (with a total of 16 beds), new speech therapy and psychology rooms, as well as new kinesiotherapy hall were opened.
The center has also been replenished with new equipment for first rehabilitative aid. About 200 wounded soldiers received rehabilitation treatment, dental care, necessary medication and care equipment. The entire medical staff was trained.
“One-window" program has been introduced, which served 557 wounded and disabled servicemen by identifying their needs.
Last year the Foundation provided about 190 million AMD for the development of the Center.
On January 28, the Executive Director of “My Step'' Foundation Hovhannes Ghazaryan noted in the briefing with journalists that a quality work was implemented highlighting that the medical care offered to the wounded soldiers in the center is of high quality.
He added that the Foundation will continue to support the “Homeland Defender's Rehabilitation Center’’ in 2020.
The Foundation supports the center exclusively through a targeted donation from American-Armenian philanthropist George Pagoumian.
