Several hundred thousand dollars in transfers and commitments, number of important meetings.

“My step” foundation’s delegation visited Moscow on November 11th-13th. Important meetings and events were held, more than 200.000 dollars in donations was collected. The visit started with a gala concert organized by Armenians residing in Russia (Artyom Vardanyan, Narine Davtyan, Roman Baghdasaryan, Karen Kocharyan), during which “My Step” foundation was presented. Charity auction was hosted and all of its revenues were transferred to Foundation.

During the meeting with female ambassadors accredited to Armenia (with residence in Moscow) and with wives of ambassadors Anna Hakobyan, “My Step” Foundation’s President of the Board of Trustees, introduced fund’s objectives and programs.

“My step” Foundation will make an attempt to form a new model of a charity fund, which implies not just a simple provision of funds to those in need, but creation of a framework that will help those people to become self-sufficient and will give them a possibility to earn the required amount themselves,” Mrs. Hakobyan particularly noted.

She said that the Foundation assumed also the important mission of synchronization of the efforts of the numerous funds operating in Armenia. “We already have experience of successful collaborations with various funds and we intend to keep working that way, for it is our goal to combine all our efforts in order to achieve better results.”

“For example, during our first days we have managed, in cooperation with several other funds, to provide scholarships for young men and women, admitted to the renowned foreign universities. Since then we have also lent financial support to several Armenian academic choirs and orchestras and to one of the prestigious festivals of classical music. We have provided 14 vulnerable families with temporary apartments under the social programs and we are now working on a project, which will help one member of the each of those families to get education or obtain necessary work experience. This will provide them with an opportunity to gain employment and to afford minimum living conditions,” Mrs. Hakobyan has presented the Foundation’s activities.

Anna Hakobyan and “My Step” Foundation’s Executive Director, Hovhannes Ghazaryan, had a meeting with businessmen Aharon Papoyan, Vahagn Khachatryan, Karen Mkrtchyan, Vahan Abgaryan and Hayk Amirjanyan on November 12th. Prospects for future cooperation within the framework of Foundation’s work were discussed during the meeting. Thoughts on creation of a mechanism for fund’s stable financing were exchanged. Businessmen expressed their willingness to assist “My Step” Foundation not only financially, but also with their professional experience.

Working dinner for the Armenian community in Moscow, including the initiators and participants of the gala concert organized in Moscow on November 11th for the presentation of “My Step” foundation, was held on the same evening. The latter emphasized that “My Step” Foundation’s Moscow presentation was a stereotypes breaking event that was attended not only by public figures, but also by ordinary people who love, miss and think about Armenia and who “made their own small contributions to support fund’s activities.”

On the last day “My Step” Foundation’s President of the Board of Trustees, Anna Hakobyan, and Executive Director, Hovhannes Ghazaryan, have met with the Special Representative of Russian President, Mikhail Shvydkoy. Parties have discussed practical concepts of collaboration in the cultural and educational fields.

“My Step” Foundation’s team expresses its gratitude to all organizations and individuals, as well as to the Embassy of RA, for the assistance provided.
