With the support of My Step Foundation, about 500 children from bordering villages and Artsakh celebrated International Children’s Day with Anna Hakobyan, wife of the Prime Minister and the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees for My Step Foundation and City of Smile foundation. On May 31 and June 1, the groups of children participated in the festivities in different parts of Yerevan.

The festivities began on May 31st, when the kids were separated into different groups to attend special activities that they would be interested in. One of the groups was taken to the Yerevan Mall Cinema, where the children watched the animated film, “The Secret Life of Pets 2.” After the movie, the kids went to the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, where they were able to tour the center, learn about the new innovative technologies, and took part in special training.

Another group of children were taken to the Figure Skating and Hockey School, where they were taught to skate and dance on ice while being guided by the school coaches. Those fascinated with sports comprised another group and were taken to the Yerevan Football Academy, where they met with Armenia’s national football team players Gevorg Ghazaryan, Rumyan Hovsepyan, and the national team coach for the Under 19 League, Arthur Voskanyan. The kids also got a special treat: footballs with inscriptions of the team names! A group of young girls were taken to the Yerevan Zoo, where they visited and learned about different animals.

Other children’s groups have also toured the studios of Armenian Public Television and Shant TV, where they met with the actors and hosts. Continuing on with the day’s festivities, the kids were taken to lunch at Tashir Pizza Food Center.

The International Children’s Day festivities continued on June 1, as the Yerevan Figure Skating and Hockey School welcomed the second group of children, this time from Artsakh. One group of children met with the host of “Be Ready,” Sargis Bazinyan while another group visited the Armenian Wrestling Federation and met with Greco-Roman wrestler, RA Parliament member Arsen Julfalakyan. A third group went to the famous Photo Atelier Marashlyan, where they took professional photographs in traditional Armenian garments. Some children were also taken to visit Matenadaran, Mankan workshop, and take a stroll in Yerevan’s 2800th anniversary park, Republic Square and Cascade. The kids were taken to lunch at Tashir Pizza and watched a cartoon at Cinema Park.

We would like to sincerely thank all of the organizations mentioned above who participated in International Children’s Day and helped make the day unforgettable for the children.
