The Renovated Gym for Vanadzor Basic School N 25 Opened

19 May, 2021
Vanadzor basic school N 25 named after Victor Hambardzumyan now has a completely renovated gymnasium - with new exercise equipment, two new dressing rooms, a renovated medical room and a furnished office for the P.E. teacher.

The opening ceremony for the reconstructed gymnasium was held on May 7. The event was attended by Mrs. Anna Hakobyan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of My Step Foundation, and Ms. Lena Nazaryan, the member of the Board.

The renovation was an award to the students of Vanadzor N 25 school as winners of the “Children’s League” TV show on the Public TV of Armenia. As a part of the collaboration with the public TV, MY STEP Foundation committed to include the First and Second Prize winning schools of the show in the “Promoting Healthy Lifestyle in Public Schools” project to encourage students’ participation in sports and promote their engagement in enhancing their schools.

During the event, volunteers of Stepanavan’s Stepan Shahumyan house-museum, a beneficiary of MY STEP Foundation’s “Reviving Cultural Centres in the regions of Armenia” project, made a presentation on healthy lifestyle. A friendly basketball match between them and the students of the Vanadzor N 25 school took place.

This is the third gymnasium that has been renovated in the scope of the “Promoting Healthy Lifestyle in Public Schools” project in the regions of Armenia.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Manoogian Simone Foundation for funding the renovation of the school facilities.

* The project will build on its achievements to develop the culture of healthy lifestyle in the communities with renovated gymnasiums. No new school will be included in the project in 2021.
