Symbolic Gift to the Children of the Armenian Community in Lebanon on International Children's Day
Back in May, in response to the request of the RA Ambassador to Lebanon Mr. Atabekyan, Anna Hakobyan, the spouse of RA Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the My Step and City of Smile Foundations, expressed readiness to provide assistance to the community.
“The "Birds’ Nest" orphanage was established in a time when the Armenian people were facing a difficult plight and adopted a unique mission to preserve Armenian identity during very difficult geopolitical events. If the Armenian community in brotherly Lebanon needs the Homeland’s support today, we will do our best to support them,” Hovhannes Ghazaryan, the Executive Director of the My Step Foundation, said in a letter to the Ambassador earlier.
On the same day, June 1st, Mr. Atabekyan also handed My Step Foundation’s contribution to the children and adolescents in need of special care of the Zvartnots Center.
Vardine Ohanyan-Ghorgyan, the Minister of Youth Affairs of Lebanon and the Director of the Zvartnots Center, expressed her appreciation of this symbolic act from the Motherland as a manifestation of the Armenia-Diaspora strong connection. She conveyed the gratitude of the Center's board to the My Step Foundation’s Board of Trustees, represented by the spouse of RA Prime Minister Anna Hakobyan.
The My Step Foundation hopes that the situation in Lebanon will be resolved as soon as possible and that life will return to normal for both the Armenian community and the people of Lebanon.
We want the children of the world to live in peace and protection.
