My Step Foundation's response to COVID-19: support for the children from Vayots Dzor living in families with 3 or more children and children who lost one or both parent(s)

15 May, 2020
On May 15, the International Family Day, the importance of the strength and solidarity of families was further emphasized in the context of the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus. The crisis has shown that only with social responsibility we can overcome challenges effectively.

On this symbolic day, the My Step Foundation launches another social program as part of its response to COVID-19, this time aimed at providing food and hygiene packages to children living in families with 3 or more children; children left without parental care because of death of one or both parents, who are included in the Vayots Dzor region's benefit system.

2,036 children from 695 families from the region will be provided with one-month food packages prepared according to the guidelines on necessary nutrition and energy values for children aged 0-10 and 11-18 developed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and the World Health Organization.

We would like to thank the Armenian Red Cross Society's specially trained volunteer groups and the staff of the Vayots Dzor Regional Department of Social Security for delivering the packages to the families.

Adhering to the principle of supporting local businesses, the My Step Foundation has purchased all packages from regional stores.

We thank all the donors and partners of the My Step Foundation for their joint efforts.
