06 October, 2019
On October 4th and 5th, an international craze of musical innovation took place in Yerevan. With support from My Step Foundation, Armenia hosted the Synthposium International Festival of Innovative Music featuring more than 50 musicians, engineers, and artists from over 16 countries.

Synthposium displayed various new music technologies, hosted lectures and seminars, and had expositions with live concerts and digital art. The goal of this festival is to inspire fans of this genre by showcasing various creations and innovative styles. These days, people from all over the world are fascinated by some of the most cutting-edge, contemporary art and have been attending from Switzerland, France, Canada, Germany, USA, Austria, the Netherlands, Japan, Iran, Lebanon, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and Armenia. Synthposium aims to support creators of modern music and technology.

Synthposium is a platform that brought together engineers, information technology specialists, art and music festivals, and fans. In today’s world of music, information technology and engineering work symbiotically to create a whole new world of music in Yerevan. All invited guests attending the festival have made a tremendous impact in this genre of art and music, and were able to present the beauty and innovation to our audiences in Armenia.

Art is constantly evolving and seeking new ways of expressing itself with no fear of breaking stereotypes and cultural norms. Synthposium provided clear evidence of this, as it gave audiences a creative, unexpected holiday filled with imagination and wonder. The festival presented another opportunity of revitalizing unused public spaces and giving Yerevan a new breath through art, following the trend set by the Urvakan festival.

Partners and supporters of the festival include My Step Foundation, the Canadian Embassy in Russia, the Pro Helvetia Cultural Council of Switzerland, UNDP Armenia, Goethe-Institute of Yerevan, French Embassy in Armenia, the PROUN movement, and the Urvakan Festival.

We are extremely proud to be supporting this exciting and innovative event, and hope that Synthposium will be hosted in Armenia many more times in the future.
