On September 19, the Spouse of the Prime Minister of Armenia and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for My Step and City of Smile foundations, Anna Hakobyan, and My Step foundation’s Executive Director, Hovhannes Ghazaryan, attended an event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of Armenia’s independence and the 95th anniversary of Charles Aznavour at the Russian Academic Theatre in Yaroslavl, Russia. Also in attendance were Vardan Toghanyan, Armenia’s ambassador to Russia; Vahagn Khachatryan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia to Yaroslavl; German Ananyants, Vice Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia; Ilya Balanin, head of the Yaroslavl Administration; Paul Bertrand Barrett, the French ambassador to Russia; Tigran Ghazaryan, Yaroslavl State MP along with many other representatives of the community.

Anna Hakobyan began her speech expressing gratitude for the invitation to visit one of the oldest cities in Russia, Yaroslavl. She referenced the work and progress that the two foundations, My Step and City of Smile, have been making.

“Dear friends, I would like to briefly mention the activities of My Step and City of Smile foundations that were created by my initiative,” she began. “The mission of My Step foundation is to promote a healthy, educated and inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to discover their true potential.”

“We aim to create an environment where each individual is responsible for their own and public welfare. The foundation implements projects in the fields of culture, education, environmental protection, and social security,” Mrs. Hakobyan continued.

After the event, Anna Hakobyan and Hovhannes Ghazaryan attended a reception hosted by Vahagn Khachatryan, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Yaroslav. During the reception, Hovhannes Ghazaryan spoke about My Step’s plans and achievements and informed attendees about their current and future projects. He assured them all that the foundation has major goals, and aims to produce new solutions to old issues.
