Inspired by Yerevan’s success, the Planet of Light Mother and Child Festival is heading to Artsakh, this time to give a true educational holiday to Artsakh children and parents.

On March 23rd of this year in Yerevan, the Mother and Child Conference and Exhibition Planet of Light took place in Yerevan with more than 10,000 visitors. The event has created an environment conducive to the development of a modern, mentally and physically healthy, developed, educated, integrated and high value system. The success of the event made it possible to make it an annual event, as well as to hold it in the regions of Armenia and Artsakh, as similar events, both educational and entertaining, are especially needed outside of Yerevan.

As of July 13th, the Planet of Light conference exhibition will take place in Stepanakert, the capital of the Artsakh Republic. The event, organized by CREO Project Solutions, will be held under the auspices of the My Step Foundation, in cooperation with the Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh, with the participation of the ministries of Health and Culture, Youth Affairs and Tourism.

This large scale project will create equal opportunities for mothers and children from all walks of life to receive important information in an inclusive environment to learn about alternative education programs and to be part of development events. It will help raise awareness of the problems of children with special needs and their families and integrate them into society. It is important that the open educational lessons provided by leading educational institutions within the framework of the event will enable everyone, including children from socially disadvantaged families, to benefit from various developmental programs that are not available to them elsewhere.

The program includes a range of open and free lectures for parents (healthy family and pregnancy, early detection of special needs, benefits of breastfeeding, neonatal care, etc), a range of free professional counseling for children and mothers, including children with disabilities, women and children with disabilities. Discussions and lectures of child rights issues.

The program is also full of entertainment. In particular, within the framework of “Fairy Tale” famous and beloved figures will read fairy tales for children in a unique library environment.
